• How sensory modulation relates to the lives of those living with dementia
• Research-based evidence of the benefits of using sensory enriching activities
• How to identify passive behaviours and sensory needs, in particular where communication barriers may be present
• Assessing the appropriate, respectful and practical application of sensory modulation in a caring context
• Adapt and expand your activity programme without increasing your budget – how to “Think of 5” every time.

Course Tutor: Danielle Keogh has 10 years’ experience in the field of dementia care. She is a trained HCA with distinctions in all modules, and has a level 8 qualification in Dementia and Everyday Ethics from DCU.  Danielle was project manager and co-developer of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland’s Virtual Dementia Hub – a digital inclusion project created in partnership with Fujitsu Ireland to empower people living with dementia globally through technology. The Hub provides an “always open” extensive library of specifically curated activity resources, presented via a user-designed accessible website, adapted for both independent and co-operative/assisted use by those living with dementia.
