- Understanding Responsive Behaviours
Engaging Dementia has designed this 2-day training for staff working in care homes for people with all types of dementia and cognitive decline and responsive type behaviour.
Over the 2 days, staff will have an opportunity to learn and gain an understanding of dementia, an understanding of responsive behaviours and an awareness of best practice in enabling people to live well with dementia.
Day 1: Introduction to Dementia Workshop
At the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Understand what dementia is
- Describe the most common types seen in practice
- Discuss the clinical manifestations of dementia
- Understand communication and the importance of non-verbal communication
Day 2: Responsive Behaviours Workshop
At the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Understand Responsive Behaviours and why they occur
- Become aware of best practice in relation to the assessment of people living with dementia and responsive behaviours
